About the event

Ever wanted to hold conversations with DE&I professionals, but did not know who to reach out to? Have you gone to equity training, overheard a conversation about a diverse experience, or just held curiosities that you do not know how to explore?

Helpful Not Harmful Professional Learning Cohort is a space for facilitated discussions, led by DEI professionals, who will walk the cohort of learners through introductory concepts,  Begin building your internal cultural competence binder. Learn about how you see the world and how to develop an intercultural mindset.

Each week, for 6 weeks, we will meet and discuss DEI practices and how they correlate with lived experiences and current events. The discussion will be grounded in a specific principle and facilitated by HomeGrown LLC, however, the direction that each discussion takes is driven by the cohort participants. Each meeting will start with “KWU”, “What you Know, What you Want to Learn, What you Use(d)”.  Each week you will leave with skills to be practiced.

Topics Covered: Introduction and Building Relationships and Spaces; Defining and Describing Identity; Defining Race, Culture, Ethnicity; Analyzing Bias; Identifying Equity, Equality, and Ego; Developing Intercultural practices
